Once permanent housing was found, they were joined by the rest of the family. In 1887 he moved with his son Ehrich to New York City, New York, USA where they lived in a boarding house on East 79th Street. In August 1882 he lost his tenure at Zion and the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA where they fell into poverty. On 06 June 1882 he became an American citizen. In 1878 he secured a job as the first Rabbi of Zion Reform Jewish Congregation in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA and sent for his family to join him there. The couple lived at Rakos arok-Gasse #1 in the Buda section of Budapest, Hungary. Mayer Samuel Weisz married secondly on in Budapest, Hungary to Cecelia Steiner (1841-1913), daughter of Hannah (Heller) and Herman Steiner. ![]() Mayer Samuel Weisz first married about 1862 in Hungary to Rosa Czillag and they had one son, followed by her death in 1863. ![]() ![]() In 1851 he received his Certificate of Ordination by the Rabbinical Examination Committee for the Wespnimer Comitat in Buda, Hungary.
